On the Viking Fully Integrated wine cellar FDWCIC7240, the display shows Door open when the door has been open for a few minutes. It works as a reminder to close the door, and clears once the door is shut. If the door is clearly closed and the message stays, the door seal or the door switch is what we would check.
1. Close the door firmly and wait a moment. 2. Look for bottle necks or racks sticking out. 3. Wipe the door seal with warm water and dry it. 4. Check that the cellar sits level and the door swings freely. 5. If the message stays with the door shut, call us.
The display shows Door open once the door has been open for a few minutes. Closing it fully makes the message disappear, usually within a short time.
Check for anything holding the door slightly open and clean the seal. If the message still stays after that, the door switch needs testing by a technician.
A few minutes does no harm. If the door was open much longer, check the temperature on the display and call us if it stays high.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
