On Viking Professional and Designer undercounter wine cellars with TruProtect control, such as the VUWC1541C, DUWC1441C and DFUW2441C, E2 reports a condenser fan error with the fan drawing high or low amps. The condenser fan moves air across the coils that release heat. If it is weak or blocked, the cellar loses cooling capacity, the temperature drifts upward, and the display shows E2.
1. Unplug the cellar and vacuum the front grille. 2. Check that nothing blocks airflow in front of the unit. 3. Plug it in and clear the code: hold SET, press ON four times. 4. Listen for the fan. 5. If E2 returns, call us.
It can. A clogged grille makes the fan work harder and draw more current. Cleaning the grille gently with a vacuum, with the unit unplugged, is a free first step before any repair.
It cools the condenser coils at the base. If it runs weakly, heat builds up inside the system, and the cellar may not keep its set temperature for your bottles over a long stretch.
If E2 returns after cleaning and clearing, call us soon so the bottles stay safe. We give the price in writing first, and our repairs carry a 30-day workmanship warranty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
