On Viking Professional and Designer dual-zone undercounter wine cellars with TruProtect control, such as the VUWC2441 and DFUW2441C, the message center shows Hi/Low Temp Lower when the lower zone is too warm or too cold. It follows the same rules as the upper zone alert and only works when TruProtect is enabled. Changing set points by more than 10F, heavy use and a new installation can all trigger it.
1. Press ON to reset the alert. 2. Close the door fully and make sure bottles do not block it. 3. Give the lower zone several hours to settle after a set point change or a big load. 4. Check the temperature with a thermometer. 5. If the alert keeps returning, call us.
No. It can appear after you change set points by more than 10F, after heavy use or on first installation. In those cases it is normal and you simply press ON to reset.
This is a dual-zone cellar, so the message names the zone. The lower zone follows the same rules as the upper one but reports separately.
If the alert keeps returning while settings stay steady and the door is shut, call us. We quote the price in writing first and back repairs for 30 days.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
