Viking VBCI1240G Beverage Repair
The VBCI1240G is a retired 24-inch undercounter beverage center for a kitchen, bar or entertaining area. One adjustable wire shelf handles more than two cases of 12-ounce cans, and two horizontal racks hold 16 bottles. Because it is loaded and reloaded so often, the shelf and the racks are the first wear points, followed by the door stop.
We service a VBCI1240G by inspecting the wire shelf for sag and the racks for loose clips, then measuring how long the interior takes to chill after loading. The condenser, the fan and the gasket are checked, and the door is tested against its stop. A written price comes before we order any part, and a 30-day workmanship warranty covers the repair.
Slight sag can be straightened, but a shelf that has taken a permanent bend is better replaced. We check the clips and the load pattern too.
A dusty condenser, a weak fan or a leaking seal slows recovery down. We clean the coil, test the fan and gasket, and then time the chilling again after a restock to confirm the improvement.
The gasket may be weak, the hinge may have dropped or the door stop may be worn. We test each in turn and correct the one that is causing the problem.
