On Viking 3 and 5 Series undercounter wine cellars and beverage centers with the electronic controller, such as the VWCI5240G, VWCI5150G, FWCI1240G and VBCI5240G, a flashing LA means the compartment stayed below the low-temperature alarm preset for more than 30 minutes. The inside is colder than intended, which is the opposite of HA. For a wine cellar that can chill bottles beyond the set range, and for a beverage center it can freeze drinks. The alarm clears when the temperature recovers.
1. Raise the temperature setting a few degrees. 2. Move bottles and drinks away from vents and the back wall. 3. Wait several hours and see whether LA clears. 4. Check for frozen drinks and remove them. 5. If LA returns after adjusting, call us.
LA is the low-temperature alarm. The cellar was colder than the alarm setting for over 30 minutes, so it is warning that the inside is too cold.
A setting that is too low, items blocking the airflow, or a sensor that reads wrong can all cause it. Raise the setting a few degrees first and clear the vents.
Several hours after you change the setting. If LA returns, the controller or sensor may have failed, and we can test both with a written price first.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
