Viking ranges are heavy, pro-style cooking centers in gas, dual-fuel and propane versions, with open or sealed burners and a large oven below. When one acts up, the cause is usually an igniter, a valve, a sensor or a door part.
In the order we see them across Houston homes.
The Viking range line covers freestanding pro ranges in several widths, usually with four to six burners, a griddle or grill on some, and one or two ovens. Most run on gas, some are dual-fuel with an electric oven, and any of them can be set up for propane.
In Houston homes, humidity and heavy use take their toll in predictable places: grease baked into burner ports, igniters coated with spills, oven door gaskets that harden in the heat, and cast-iron grates that rust where the finish chips. Kitchens near the coast also see more corrosion on knobs and trim.
When we arrive we check the gas supply and the flame at each burner first, then the igniter spark, then the oven temperature against a separate thermometer. You get the price in writing before any part is replaced.

Yes, in most cases it needs the right conversion parts, matching orifices and a regulator adjustment. We confirm the fuel at your house first, install the parts that fit the model, then light every burner and the oven to check the flame before we leave.
Clicking means the igniter is sparking but the gas is not catching. Grease, spilled food or moisture in the burner port is the usual reason, and a worn igniter comes next. A careful cleaning often solves it, and if not we test the spark itself.
No. Turn off the burners, open a window, leave the house and call your gas utility from outside without touching light switches. After the utility clears the home, we can trace and repair the leaking fitting or valve.
Book in about a minute, or call the desk. Same-day windows inside the Loop on most days, next-day across the rest of Houston.
