On Viking Professional gas and dual-fuel ranges (VGIC, VGSC, VGCC, VDSC), the 3 Series RVGR3305B and Designer DCCG130, the Direct Spark Ignition module repeats a pattern every four seconds. Two or five flashes in that cycle mean a control problem in the DSI module. The ignition board is no longer working as designed, so burners may fail to light or may behave oddly. The reading is made by watching the LED.
1. Turn all knobs to off and let the burners cool. 2. Switch the breaker off for a minute, then restore power. 3. Light one burner and see if it ignites. 4. If you again see two or five flashes, stop. 5. Call us; the module is under the range panels. Gas odor? Leave right away and call the utility from outside the home.
Watch the LED on the module over a few four-second cycles. That LED is inside the range, so a technician usually reads it during the visit.
It can clear a one-time glitch. If two or five flashes come back after the reset, the module has a control problem that needs a technician.
The electric parts may still work, but burners should stay off until we check the gas side. Tell us on the phone what still runs.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
