On the 18-inch secondary oven of Viking VDSC548T ranges, such as the VDSC548T-4GQ or VDSC548T-6B, the control flashes the cycle light ten times with the clean light on. This tells you a delayed self-clean cycle was attempted, which is not permitted on this oven. It is a selection message, not a breakdown. Nothing is overheating or damaged, and the oven can run a normal clean cycle.
1. Press the cancel or off key to clear the setting. 2. Make sure no delayed start or timer is programmed. 3. Select a clean cycle on its own, starting immediately. 4. Latch the door fully and let the cycle run. 5. If ten flashes return with a plain clean request, call us.
This oven does not allow a delayed self-clean. Choosing one leads to ten flashes of the cycle light. Start the clean cycle immediately at a time you are home.
Usually not. Cancel, set a normal clean cycle without a delay, and the message should not return. If it does, tell us and we will check the control.
Keep the area clear of pets and fumes, and stay home while it runs. If you notice anything unusual, switch the breaker off and call us.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
