On Viking Professional VGIC, VGSC, VGCC and VDSC ranges, the 3 Series RVGR3305B and Designer DCCG130, three flashes every four seconds from the DSI module mean ignition lockout. The control tried to ignite the burner, but it sensed no flame within the allowed time and number of tries, so it stopped. You may hear repeated clicking and then silence, with no flame at the burner.
1. Turn all knobs to off and let things cool. 2. Check that burner caps are seated and dry, and the ports are free of food. 3. Cycle power at the breaker for a minute. 4. Try the burner once. 5. If it locks out again, call us. Do not keep retrying. If gas is present in the air, do not stay inside; call the gas utility from the street.
The module tried the allowed number of times and sensed no flame, so it locked out for safety. Wet or dirty parts are common, but a weak spark can also be the cause.
Cycling power at the breaker for about a minute usually clears the lockout, then the module tries again. If it returns, the burner needs a technician.
Yes. You get a written price first, then we do the work, and the repair is covered by our 30-day workmanship warranty. If the burner igniter is the only cause, the bill is usually smaller than for a module.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
