Viking VDSC Range Code Key Short: A Key Press Lasting Over 30 Seconds

What Key Short means

On Viking Professional VDSC5xxT dual-fuel ranges with the EOC4 control, for example the VDSC530T-4B or VDSC548T-4GQ, Key Short means the control has seen a key press input for more than 30 seconds. The control reads that as a stuck key, so it ignores the key pad rather than act on a wrong command. A stuck key may be a touch pad with grease, moisture or a worn contact.

Common causes of Key Short

Key pad contact stuck or worn
Grease, moisture or cleaner under the key area
Pressure on the panel from something resting against it
Key board sending a false signal

1. Turn the oven off if you can. 2. Wipe the panel with a barely damp soft cloth, then dry it. 3. Make sure nothing leans on the keys. 4. Switch the breaker off for a minute and back on. 5. If the message returns, call us. Do not pry at the keys.
