On Viking Professional VGIC, VGSC, VGCC and VDSC ranges, the 3 Series RVGR3305B and the Designer DCCG130, the Direct Spark Ignition module has a status LED. A DSI LED that stays on continuously points to a control problem on the module itself. The usual answer is to cycle power, retry, and replace the module if the light stays solid. You may notice burners that do not light or do not respond normally.
1. Turn all knobs to off. 2. Switch the range breaker off for a full minute, then on. 3. Try one burner and watch whether it clicks and lights. 4. If burners still do not light, stop trying. 5. Call us to read the module. A gas smell means leave the house first, then call the gas utility from outside.
It tells us the ignition module has stopped in a control problem state. We confirm by cycling power and reading the pattern, then decide whether the module needs to be replaced.
Sometimes a power reset clears a temporary glitch. If the light comes back solid, the module itself is the likely cause and needs replacing by a technician.
We quote the price in writing before any work starts, and whichever repair it turns out to be, whether the module or its wiring, it is backed by our 30-day workmanship warranty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
