On Viking Professional gas and dual-fuel ranges (VGIC, VGSC, VGCC, VDSC), the 3 Series RVGR3305B and Designer DCCG130, seven flashes every four seconds mean the module powered up with a channel already on. That means power was supplied while one or more burner knobs were turned on. The fix is to switch the channel off and retry. It is often a return of power after an outage with a knob left on.
1. Turn every burner knob fully to the off position. 2. Wait ten seconds. 3. Switch the range breaker off for a minute, then restore power. 4. Turn one knob to light and see if the burner ignites normally. 5. If seven flashes continue, call us. Never stay in the house if you smell gas; call the gas utility once you are outside.
After an outage or breaker trip, a knob left in a lit position tells the module a channel is already on. The module stops until all knobs are off.
It is usually simple to clear, but make sure no gas smell is present. If you smell gas, leave the house and call the gas utility from outside.
Then a burner switch may be stuck in the on position or the control may be seeing a false signal. We check that during a visit and quote the price in writing before any parts are ordered.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
