Viking VUAR1541 Slim Glass Repair
The VUAR1541 is a retired 15-inch glass door beverage center. A narrow glass door puts a lot of weight on its hinges relative to the cabinet, and over time it sags, opens a gap along the latch side and lets in humid air that fogs the glass.
We repair a VUAR1541 by checking the hinge and the closing action, then the gasket with a paper strip. After that, we clean the condenser, test the fan and check the thermostat. The light and its switch are tested. A written price is given before parts are ordered for this retired model, and a 30-day workmanship warranty covers the work. We also check the leveling feet. A quick test with the door closed for ten minutes shows whether the cabinet is chilling.
Humid air is getting in past a gap at the hinge or latch side. We adjust the door and replace the gasket if the paper-strip test shows it can no longer grip.
Often the hinge can be tightened or shimmed to bring the door level. If the hinge itself is worn, we replace it and check the closing action against the gasket afterward.
Usually it is a bulb, a socket or a switch. We check all three and replace only the one that has failed, so the light works reliably and does not add heat to the cabinet.
