Viking VCWB300 Three-Zone Cellar Repair
The VCWB300 is a retired Professional full-height wine cellar, 30 inches wide, with horizontal storage for up to 150 bottles. A three-zone TriTemp storage system keeps different wines at different temperatures, and full-width shelves pull out to reach standard, magnum and half-size bottles. With that much stock in one cabinet, an unnoticed drift is expensive.
We repair a VCWB300 by measuring all three zones, then testing the sensor, damper and fan for any zone that is off target. The pull-out shelves are checked for rub, the rear liner for frost and the door seal along its full height. A written price comes first, and the work is backed by a 30-day workmanship warranty. The level of the cabinet is checked too, since a tall cellar that leans lets the door drift open.
Place a thermometer on a shelf in each zone and compare with the setting. We do exactly this at the start of every visit, and we leave the thermometers in place while we test other parts.
Rails may have bent under bottle weight, or dust may be causing drag. We clean and adjust the rails and replace those that are damaged.
Yes, because frost limits airflow and can cause zones to drift. We find out why it formed, such as a failed defrost heater or a leaking seal, and clear it so it does not return.
