Viking DFSB542D Panel Dispenser
The DFSB542D is the dispenser version of the 42-inch custom panel side-by-side, a retired Designer Quiet Cool model. The panels are supplied locally to match the cabinets, and the handles are Viking Professional or custom, but behind the front it has a water filter, a line and an ice maker.
A dispenser in a custom panel door is a long chain: the supply valve, filter, tubing, the door’s own water path and the ice maker. When one link ages, the first sign is slow water or an empty bin. Meanwhile the heavy panel pulls the door down, and a seal gap lets the compartment drift warm.
We trace the water path link by link and straighten the door. You will have a written price before any part is ordered, and the work is guaranteed for 30 days.
We check the water to the ice maker first, then its fill tube for ice and the mold heater. A frozen fill tube or a weak inlet valve is more common than a failed ice maker.
Water and ice use different paths. The ice chute flap, the auger motor or the ice maker itself may be the culprit, and we test each before replacing any part.
Minor alignment can be done in place. For hinge replacement the panel often has to come off, and we mark it so it returns to the same position.
