Viking TruProtect Undercounter Refrigerator Alarms: Hi/Low Temp, Power Failure, Door Ajar

What Hi/Low Temp / Power Failure / Door Ajar (TruProtect) means

On Viking Professional and Designer undercounter refrigeration with TruProtect, such as the VUAR1531T, VURD1441D and DUAR1531, the display uses the same alarms as Viking wine cellars. HIGH or LOW TEMP shows in red, POWER FAILURE flashes amber, and Door Ajar warns about an open door. You press ON to reset, and you close the door to clear Door Ajar. The alarms are normal at first installation.

Common causes of Hi/Low Temp / Power Failure / Door Ajar (TruProtect)

A door left open or not fully closed
A power outage or interruption
A temperature that drifted high or low from load, room or door use
A new installation settling to its set temperature

1. Press ON to reset the alarm. 2. Check the door swing and close it completely. 3. After a power outage, check the food and the temperatures shown. 4. Give a new installation several hours to reach its setting. 5. If HIGH or LOW TEMP returns, call us with the model number.

Are these alarms normal at first start-up?

Yes. A new installation often shows temperature or power alarms while it settles. Press ON to reset them. If they return after several hours, book a check.

What is the amber POWER FAILURE alarm?

It flashes after the power was interrupted. Press ON to reset it and check your food. It is not a sign the unit is broken.
