On Viking Professional 7 Series and Designer built-in refrigerators, second generation, and current 5 Series built-ins such as the VCBB5363E, VCSB5423 and VCFB5303, the temperature sensor alarm sounds and the display shows oPn. oPn means the sensor circuit is open. Pressing ALARM OFF silences the alarm, but if the display does not go back to showing the temperature, a technician is needed.
1. Press ALARM OFF to silence the tone. 2. Wait a few minutes and see if the temperature returns to the display. 3. Unplug the refrigerator for two minutes and plug it back in. 4. Keep doors closed. 5. If oPn stays, call us.
oPn means the sensor circuit is open, Shr means it is shorted. Both are temperature sensor alarms and both need a technician if the temperature does not return.
You can silence it with ALARM OFF. If the display still shows oPn afterward, the sensor circuit is still open and the alarm will return.
Often yes, but the control cannot read the temperature, so check with a thermometer. We give you a written price before work, with a 30-day workmanship warranty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
