On Viking Professional 7 Series and Designer built-in refrigerators, second-generation electronic control, such as the VCBB5363E, VCSB5423 and VCFB5303, plus current 5 Series built-ins, the HIGH TEMP light glows and an alarm sounds if the refrigerator or freezer stays too warm for about two hours. A blinking light shows which part is affected, and ALARM OFF silences the tone until the temperature recovers.
1. Close both doors fully and check the seals. 2. Press ALARM OFF. 3. Vacuum the condenser grille. 4. Do not add large amounts of warm food. 5. Check with a thermometer after a few hours. 6. If it is still warm, move food to a cooler and call us.
On these built-ins the alert comes after the cabinet has been too warm for about two hours. Older first-generation units only show an indicator light, without the HIGH TEMP legend.
The light blinks to show whether the refrigerator or freezer is affected. Tell us which one when you call, so we can come prepared with the right parts.
If the cabinet has been above 40F for more than two hours, throw out perishables. The price for our repair is quoted first, and the work carries a 30-day workmanship warranty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
