Viking DURD1441D Designer Drawer
The DURD1441D is a retired 24-inch Designer refrigerated drawer, a small under-counter unit whose bottom drawer is tall enough to stand wine bottles upright. It tends to live in a bar, a butler pantry or beside an island, where it is opened often during entertaining.
A drawer unit has its compressor low and close to the floor, so lint and dust gather fast, and the compressor then has to run long. Slides carry bottle weight and wear, and a drawer that no longer closes flush lets warm air into the box. Both lead to the same complaint: it does not feel cold enough.
We clean the airflow path, check the slides and gasket, and compare the box with a thermometer. Our quote comes in writing before work, and every repair has a 30-day warranty.
A dusty condenser area or a drawer that does not close flush are the likely causes. We clean the airflow path and check the slide and gasket.
The weight is acceptable, but heavy loads at the back strain the slides. Keep the heaviest bottles near the front and avoid stacking above the rim.
Behind the front grille, on the condenser coil. Switching the unit off and gently vacuuming it twice a year keeps the compressor cooler. A soft brush and a vacuum clear it in a few minutes.
Book in about a minute, or call the desk. Same-day windows inside the Loop on most days, next-day across the rest of Houston.
