At 60 inches wide and 27 inches deep, the VGRC605 is the largest Classic Series commercial-depth range, and it normally forms the whole cooking wall of a large kitchen. It is a retired model, so the ones we meet have years of heavy use behind them.
With that many burners and two ovens, each part wears at its own pace. We often find one oven heating more slowly than its neighbor, a few burners with weak sparks while the rest are fine, and doors that no longer seal the way they did when new.
The work goes burner by burner and oven by oven. If gas can be smelled, leave the building and phone the gas utility from a safe distance. Every job starts with a written price, and our work is guaranteed for 30 days.
Each oven has its own igniter, valve and sensor. When one of those parts weakens, only that oven is affected. We test them one at a time and replace the aging part, not the whole set.
We bring enough people and floor protection, and we move the range only when the repair requires it. Many burner and oven repairs are completed from the front.
The weight puts more load on hinges and springs, so they can tire sooner. If the door droops or lets heat escape, we adjust it or replace the worn part.
