Viking VDUI5240D Refrigerated Drawers
The VDUI5240D is a 24-inch refrigerated drawer unit from the Professional Series, built to sit beneath a counter. Drawers put cold storage at hand height for snacks, produce or beverages, and a digital control sets the temperature. The unit is often built in beneath a counter where airflow is limited.
Because the cold air has to travel from a compressor tucked under the box to drawers that open constantly, warm air is the enemy. Drawer seals that no longer close flush, a blocked front grille or a drifted sensor let the temperature creep up. The control panel, sitting low, also gets splashed more than most.
We clean the airflow path, inspect each drawer seal and compare readings with a thermometer. Pricing is in writing beforehand, and we guarantee the work for 30 days.
We look at the seal on the warm drawer, the way it closes and the airflow into it. A seal that no longer touches all around is a frequent cause.
Not necessarily. A dusty condenser or a blocked grille makes it run longer. We clean and measure before suspecting the compressor itself. A unit tucked into a tight cabinet run is especially prone to this.
Wipe the panel with a barely damp cloth and avoid spraying cleaner near it. If liquid gets in, switch the unit off and let it dry before turning it on.
Book in about a minute, or call the desk. Same-day windows inside the Loop on most days, next-day across the rest of Houston.
