The VDR5304B is a current 5 Series 30-inch freestanding dual fuel range: four sealed gas burners with VariSimmer on every burner on top, and a ProFlow convection electric oven below. Cooks who like gas flames on the cooktop and even electric heat in the oven choose this pairing.
We treat the cooktop and oven as two systems. On the cooktop we lift each sealed burner, clean the base, dry it and test spark. In the oven we check the lock after self-clean, test the sensor, and look at the bake element and convection fan. A burner that clicks but will not light is usually a cleaning job, while an oven message is usually the lock or sensor.
Should you smell gas at any time, leave promptly and call the gas utility from a neighbor’s yard or the street. The written price is yours to approve first; the repair then carries a 30-day workmanship warranty.
The burners use gas and the oven uses a 240-volt circuit. If one fails, the other keeps working, and we test whichever system is acting up.
The burner may still be damp, or the cap may not be seated flat on the base. Let it dry fully and reseat the cap, and we test the igniter if it still fails.
