Viking RVRF336 3 Series French-Door
The RVRF336 is a retired 3 Series French-door bottom-freezer refrigerator, 36 inches wide. It has two doors up top and a freezer drawer below, and it matches the family of RVRF models Viking sold under the 3 Series. It is one of the simpler models, which helps when diagnosing.
French doors have a center seam that is hard to keep tight, and an aging gasket there lets in humid air. The drawer below gathers frost when it does not close flush, and the condenser dust that every refrigerator collects keeps the compressor going longer.
We start with the seal at the seam and the drawer closure, then clean the coil. A written price is given before work, and we warrant repairs for 30 days.
The center seam gasket may have flattened, or the doors are out of line. We check both. Closing a strip of paper at the seam will show whether it grips.
Cleaning the condenser and checking the seals keeps it efficient. A yearly check of the door gaskets and the drawer closure completes the routine. Do this before the hot months, when the compressor works hardest.
Warm air entering past the drawer seal freezes. We repair the closure and clear the frost. Repairing the closure and clearing the frost stops it returning.
