Viking DURD144D Refrigerated Drawer
The DURD144D is a retired Designer refrigerated drawer, 24 inches wide. Almost no printed information about it survives, so we identify it by the data plate, and we treat it like the other Designer drawers when it comes to how it is built and how it ages.
A refrigerated drawer is a short chain of parts: a compressor and condenser low in the base, a fan, a sensor, a control, and the drawer’s own slides and gasket. Complaints begin with a warm interior, which almost always traces to dust on the coil or a drawer that rides unevenly and lets air in.
On a visit we clean the coil, test the fan and sensor and check how the drawer closes. A written price is given before work starts, and the repair is under warranty for 30 days.
A worn slide or a shifted front is the likely cause. We inspect the track and the front mounting, adjust or replace what is worn, and check that the gasket seals all the way around.
It is on the data plate inside the cabinet or along the drawer opening. Reading it to us on the phone helps us bring the right parts.
Often yes when the cause is a coil, a fan or a gasket, since the cabinet is usually sound. We tell you what is wrong and what it costs before any work starts.
Book in about a minute, or call the desk. Same-day windows inside the Loop on most days, next-day across the rest of Houston.
