Viking DDFF036 French-Door Refrigerator

Most common issues on this model

  1. Ice maker slow or not producing
  2. Water filter clogged, slowing the flow
  3. Frost build-up despite frost-free operation
  4. Door seal gap at the center seam

The DDFF036 is a retired Designer French-door refrigerator, 36 inches wide with a bottom freezer. It is frost-free and comes with an in-the-door dairy compartment with a cover, a premium water filter and an automatic ice maker installed. A bit of dust on the condenser in the base can raise running times and worsen every other issue.

The ice maker and the water filter are where age shows first. A filter left too long slows the water supply and the ice maker starves; the inlet valve or the mold heater weakens; and a French-door center seam that no longer meets lets humid air in.

We check the water line, filter and valve, then the seals and defrost system. A written price comes first, and every repair carries a 30-day warranty.

DDFF036DDFF036 questions
Why is the ice maker on my DDFF036 making little ice?

Low water flow from a clogged filter or a weak inlet valve is usual. We replace the filter, check the valve and the mold heater and measure the supply pressure.

How often should the water filter be changed?

About every six months is typical, sooner if the flow slows. A fresh filter protects both the ice maker and the taste of the water.

What causes moisture at the center of the French doors?

A gap between the two door seals lets warm air in. We check alignment and replace the gasket if it has flattened. The seam at the center is the usual place for it to leak.
