On first-generation Viking 3 Series French-door refrigerators with the TruTouch control, such as the RVRF336 and RVRF3361, the temperature display blinks HI during a high temperature condition. After 20 minutes the alarm sounds and the High Temp indicator turns red. Pressing Mute acknowledges it and the display then shows the highest temperature reached. It warns that the inside has gotten warmer than allowed.
1. Press Mute to silence the alarm. 2. Close the doors firmly and check that nothing blocks them. 3. Wait a few hours for the temperature to recover. 4. Wipe the gaskets and clear the vents. 5. If HI returns, call us and note the highest temperature shown.
HI blinks first. If the condition lasts 20 minutes, the alarm sounds and the High Temp light turns red. Mute acknowledges it, and the display then shows the highest temperature reached.
No. It acknowledges the alert and stops the sound. The cause still has to be cleared, whether that is a door, a warm load or a cooling issue.
Look at the highest temperature shown and how long it stayed there. Perishables held warm for hours should be discarded. We can inspect the unit if HI keeps returning.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
