On Viking built-in refrigerators with the Variable Speed DC Overdrive compressor, such as the VCSB5423 and VCBB5363E, a dark LED on the compressor inverter box together with a compressor that is off means the inverter is receiving no input power signal, or it has been damaged. The display on the front may still look fine. What you notice is that the unit stops cooling.
1. Check that the refrigerator is plugged in and other items on that outlet work. 2. Look at the home breaker and reset it if it tripped. 3. Unplug for two minutes, plug in and wait 12 minutes. 4. Keep doors shut. 5. If the unit is still warm, call us.
The interior lights run on a different circuit. The inverter powers the compressor, so a dark LED means the compressor circuit is not receiving power or the inverter is damaged.
In the US your unit runs on 115 volts. If the outlet voltage is right and the inverter stays dark after the reset, the inverter itself is the likely culprit.
Tell us when you call that the unit is not cooling and we will try to prioritize it. The price is quoted in writing before work, with a 30-day workmanship warranty.
