On Viking Designer undercounter dishwashers DFUD042, DFUD142 and DFUD142P, heavy flashing of the indicator means there is too much water in the dishwasher. These European-built models use an icon display instead of numbers, so the flashing pattern is the message. The machine stops and will not continue until you turn the main switch off and back on. Check the floor around the machine before you restart it.
1. Turn off the water supply under the sink. 2. Switch the dishwasher off with the main switch and unplug it or turn off the breaker. 3. Mop up any water on the floor. 4. Turn the main switch off and on again to try clearing the display. 5. If heavy flashing returns, leave the water off and call us.
Turn the main switch off and on again. That clears the display once the extra water is handled, but the cause still needs to be found if it recurs.
Possibly. Check the floor and the base of the cabinet. If there is water outside the machine, shut off the supply and call us right away.
If heavy flashing does not return after a reset, it may be fine for now. Repeated flashing means the cause is still there and the machine should stay off.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
