E:10 is a user interface board communication error on current Viking VDWU and FDWU dishwashers in the 324, 524 and 724 series, including water-softener versions. The interface board takes your program selections and passes them to the main board. When that communication fails, the E:10 icon shows, and button presses may be ignored or the program may not start at all.
1. Turn the dishwasher off at its breaker, wait about two minutes, and turn it on again. 2. Make sure the door is shut tightly, since a half-closed door can confuse the panel. 3. Select a program and press Start. 4. If E:10 returns, leave it off and call us for a board check.
E:09 is the display board link, and E:10 is the user interface board link. Both are communication problems, but they point to different boards behind the panel.
Possibly. If the icon shows and the buttons are dead, the interface board is probably not talking to the main board. Switch the power off and on once, then call us.
Often, if we confirm the model and the part is on hand. We quote the price before ordering, so you know the cost before any board is changed.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
