Flash pattern 2-1, two Pots/Pans blinks followed by one Normal Wash blink, is listed as a Huba Disconnect Error on Viking Professional VDB450 and Designer DDB325 built-in dishwashers. The Huba sensor reports the water condition in the tub, and the control can no longer see it. Without that reading the control will not run the cycle safely, so it stops and flashes.
1. Turn off the dishwasher's breaker for two minutes and restore power. 2. Run a short cycle and see whether the 2-1 pattern appears again. 3. If it does, stop using the machine. The sensor and its connector are inside the unit, so please do not pull the dishwasher out or remove panels. Call us with your model number.
It gives the control a reading of the water in the tub. Pattern 2-1 means the control lost contact with it, so it cannot judge the level.
Often it is a connection, but we test before assuming anything. If the sensor itself is bad, we quote the part and the labor in writing first, before we order it.
Usually yes, because the control wants the water reading before it fills and washes. Reset the power once at the breaker, and call us if the pattern returns afterward.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
