The Blower Error, flash pattern 5-2, applies to Viking Professional VDB450 built-in dishwashers, as a 450-only service code. The Pots/Pans light flashes five times and the Normal Wash light flashes twice. It means the control found a problem with the blower used to dry the load. It typically turns up when a technician runs the diagnostic cycle, not during an ordinary wash.
1. Press and hold START for four seconds to clear the lights, then run a normal cycle. 2. After the cycle, open the door and check whether the dishes get dry as usual; a missing blower often leaves them wet. 3. If the 5-2 pattern returns or the dishes stay wet, leave it and call us. The blower sits behind the lower panel.
It is a 450-only code, found on Viking Professional VDB450 units. Other models in the family use different lists, so check your model number before you compare.
Washing is not what this code is about. The drying side is affected, so dishes may come out wet. We would still have it checked so the problem does not grow.
Some codes are recorded only when the diagnostic routine runs a specific test. If you see it during a regular wash, call us and mention the 5-2 pattern.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
