Viking VGR54846G Gas Range Service
The VGR54846G is a current 48-inch sealed burner range from the 5 Series, built for a kitchen that cooks for a crowd. It pairs a wide cooktop with the Gourmet-Glo infrared broiler and a TruGlide full-extension rack that makes heavy roasting pans easier to pull.
Because the oven is used so often, the TruGlide slides collect grease and can start to bind. We also see weak bake igniters and sensors that read off, and on top, ignition trouble when a spill slips under a burner cap.
We check the burners first, then slide the rack in and out, and finish with an oven test. Keep gas safety in mind with a range this large, and call the gas utility from outside if you smell gas. The price is written before any work, and we cover our workmanship for 30 days.
Often yes. Grease and baked-on residue in the slides cause most sticking, and we clean them and lubricate with a high-temperature product. If a slide is bent, we replace it.
A bake igniter that has weakened opens the gas valve late, so heat starts late. We measure the igniter's current and check the sensor, and replace only the part that tests weak.
It is a gas infrared broiler that heats quickly for searing and browning. If it takes too long to light, the igniter or valve is aging, and we test both to see which needs replacement.
