Viking VGIC53626B Open Burner Service
The VGIC53626B is a current 5 Series 36-inch open burner gas range, and it is the width we see most in remodeled kitchens with a wider cooking zone. Owners usually place it between cabinet runs, often with a hood and a shallow shelf above, and it gets daily use as the main range.
The stainless open burners are easy to remove, and because they are cleaned often, the problems we see are usually sparking related: a damp electrode, a loose wire, or a spark module with a worn output. The oven side adds a bake igniter and the broiler igniter, both of which weaken slowly.
We check each burner’s spark and flame, then the broiler and the oven. Keep the gas utility number handy and use it from outside the house if you ever smell gas. We provide a written price before work and warrant our workmanship for 30 days.
Brief clicking is normal until the flame is detected, but constant clicking means a wet electrode or a module that never gets confirmation. We dry and clean the electrode, then test the module output.
Keep the broiler pan clean, and avoid letting grease drip onto the burner. Grease on the burner can slow its ignition and shorten the igniter's life. If it lights late, schedule a check before it stops.
Not generally. If it bakes unevenly, we check racks and the ProFlow baffle, then look at the igniter and temperature sensor. Uneven baking is more often a worn sensor than a design problem.
