The VGR5488B is a current 5 Series 48-inch freestanding gas range with eight open burners, VariSimmer on every burner, dual ProFlow convection ovens and SureSpark re-ignition. With eight burners across the top, it suits big-batch cooking, entertaining and families that cook several dishes at once.
Eight ignition points mean more chances for one to fail. We light each burner in turn, note which clicks without catching, and clean its port and cap before testing the igniter. The ovens are separate cavities on one control board, so we test each one’s temperature and lock. A lock that fails after self-clean usually points to the latch of that cavity alone, which we can replace without touching the other oven.
