On Viking Professional 7 Series and Designer built-in refrigerators, second generation, and current 5 Series built-ins such as the VCBB5363E, VCSB5423 and VCFB5303, the POWER indicator flashes to show that power was lost. No alarm sounds. Pressing ALARM OFF clears it. Check that the refrigerator is cooling normally after the outage, since the indicator only tells you power was interrupted.
1. Press ALARM OFF to clear the indicator. 2. Check the temperature on the display or with a thermometer. 3. Look at the breaker and plug. 4. Keep the doors closed while the unit recovers. 5. If it will not clear or the unit is warm, call us.
On these models the power loss alert is silent. Only the POWER indicator flashes, so it is easy to miss. Press ALARM OFF to clear it, then check the temperature.
Check the temperature. If the cabinet stayed above 40F for more than two hours, discard perishables. A thermometer inside the refrigerator helps you judge it properly.
If no outage happened, call us. The outlet, plug or control may be at issue. We quote the price in writing first and stand behind the work for 30 days.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
