On second-generation Viking 3 Series French-door refrigerators such as the RVFFR336SS, one alarm covers two conditions. The alarm sounds when the refrigerator door has been open for one minute, or when there is a sensor failure. The Alarm Off key silences it. The owner display gives no separate code for the sensor case, so if the doors are closed and the alarm still sounds, a technician needs to check the sensors.
1. Close the refrigerator door firmly and see whether the alarm stops. 2. Press Alarm Off to silence it. 3. Check that nothing blocks the door and wipe the gasket. 4. Watch whether the alarm returns with the doors closed. 5. If it does, call us and note when it happens.
If the alarm stops when the door is closed, it was the door. If it sounds with doors shut, a sensor may have failed. The owner display does not give a separate code.
Alarm Off silences the sound, but a sensor failure can affect cooling. If the alarm returns with doors closed, book an inspection so food is not at risk.

A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
