On Viking Professional 7 Series and Designer built-in refrigerators, second generation, and the current 5 Series built-ins such as the VCBB5363E, VCSB5423 and VCFB5303, the DOOR OPEN light blinks and an alarm sounds when either door has been open for more than three minutes. Pressing ALARM OFF silences the tone, and closing the door clears the alert. It is a reminder, not a breakdown.
1. Close the door firmly and check that nothing sticks out from a shelf or drawer. 2. Press ALARM OFF if the tone continues. 3. Wipe the door seals with warm water. 4. Check that the refrigerator is level. 5. If the alert returns with the doors closed, call us.
On these built-ins, after three minutes with a door open. Other Viking generations differ, including freestanding units at five minutes and 3 Series units at one minute.
A box or bottle may hold a door open a hair, or the seal may not touch properly. Press the doors closed, then press ALARM OFF.
