On Viking Professional VICU206 and VICU266 induction cooktops, the hybrid VCCU106 and VCCU166, and the VISC530 induction range, code 10 means a wrong terminal is connected. The secondary voltage of the power supply reads above 400 volts, so the supply connection has to be checked. This usually shows up soon after installation or after the cooktop was moved or rewired, and the 10 appears with no heating.
1. Turn the cooktop's breaker off right away and leave it off. 2. Do not keep restarting the cooktop to see whether the 10 clears; an overvoltage supply can damage the electronics. 3. Tell us whether the cooktop was just installed or moved. We will check the connection and supply with proper meters at a visit.
The cooktop reads the secondary side of its supply. A reading above 400 volts means the cable is landed on a terminal it should not be on, or the supply is not what the unit expects.
Please do not keep cycling it. A reset is not the fix here, and repeated starts on a wrong supply can stress the electronics. Leave it off until the connection is checked.
Not necessarily. Caught early, it is often only a connection correction. That is why we ask you to stop using it, so a wiring mistake does not turn into a board replacement.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
