The Direct Spark Ignition module on Viking Professional gas and dual-fuel ranges, plus the 3 Series RVGR3305B and Designer DCCG130, has a small status LED that technicians read. DSI No LED means the LED is dark, so the module is getting no power. The burners usually will not click or light because the ignition board is not running. Wiring to the module is the first place to look. Models such as the VGSC536-6B are included.
1. Turn every burner knob to off. 2. Check that the range is plugged in and the breaker has not tripped. 3. Reset the breaker for one minute. 4. Try one burner for a few seconds. 5. If nothing clicks, stop and call us. The module sits behind the panels. Should you smell gas at any point, get everyone out and phone the gas utility from outside.
It is on the ignition module inside the range, not on the front panel, so you will not see it without removing panels. We read it during a visit to learn what the module is reporting.
If the burners are not lighting, that is unsafe to try on your own. If you smell gas, leave the house and call the gas utility from outside. Otherwise leave the range off until we check it.
Yes. Before we touch the range we tell you the price in writing, and once the work is done our repairs come with a 30-day workmanship warranty, so you know the cost and the cover up front.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
