What Door Latch means

On Viking Professional VDSC5xxT dual-fuel ranges with the EOC4 control and VDSC display, such as the VDSC536T-6B or VDSC548T-4GQ, Door Latch means the oven door lock did not behave as expected. Either the latch needed more than one minute to lock in CLEAN mode, or the lock was not in the unlocked position during COOK or in the locked position during CLEAN. The oven stops the cycle and shows the message.

Latch motor or lock switch slow to travel
Lock position switch reporting the wrong position
Door not closing fully against the latch

Wait until the oven is fully cool first. During a clean cycle the oven is extremely hot, so do not force the door. Once cool, the latch should release and you can open it normally.

Can I still bake without self-clean?
