Viking VDSC Range Code Door: Opened in the Middle of a Clean Cycle

What Door means

On Viking Professional VDSC5xxT dual-fuel ranges with the EOC4 control, such as the VDSC536T-6B or VDSC548T-4GQ, Door appears when the door is found open during a CLEAN cycle. The latch failed to hold, the door sensor failed, or the door was opened right after CLEAN was selected. The oven stops the cycle, so the oven stays dirty and may remain locked until it cools.

Common causes of Door

Door opened right after selecting CLEAN
Latch did not hold the door closed
Door sensor not registering the closed door
Wiring from the sensor to the control

1. Cancel the clean cycle and let the oven cool. 2. Close the door fully and make sure the gasket is not folded. 3. Remove any item sitting in the door path. 4. Start CLEAN again and keep the door shut. 5. If Door returns with the door closed, stop and call us.

If you opened the door just after pressing CLEAN, yes, and the message is expected. If the door stayed closed, the latch or the sensor may not be reporting correctly.

Is it safe to retry the clean cycle?

Once the oven is cool and the door closes fully, one retry is fine. If Door shows again with the door closed, do not run it again until we check.
