FDW102WS

Viking FDW102WS Softener Dishwasher

Most common issues on this model

  1. Cloudy dishes from a softener problem
  2. Door sagging as springs tire
  3. Filters packed with residue
  4. Cycles ending early from sensor trouble

The FDW102WS is a retired 102 Series 24-inch custom panel dishwasher with a water softener, three wash arms, triple filtration, a turbidity sensor and Quiet Clean insulation, rated for up to 12 place settings.

A custom panel puts weight on the door, and the springs wear along with it, so we check them early. The softener is the second thing we examine, because hard water scale causes most cloudy-dish complaints in machines like this. Then come the filters, arms and the turbidity sensor, which controls cycle length.

If the machine is slow to drain or leaves water in the base, we find out whether the cause is a clogged filter, a hose or the pump before replacing any part.

Written price first, and a 30-day warranty afterward.

FDW102WSFDW102WS questions
Why does my door fall open on the FDW102WS?

The springs may be tired or mismatched to the panel. We test tension and hinges and replace what has weakened, so the door holds at partial angles.

Can the softener cause drainage issues?

Rarely. Slow drainage is usually the filter, hose or pump. We check those first, but we also confirm that the softener drain path is clear and not kinked behind the machine.

How can I tell the filter is dirty?

Grit on dishes, a sour smell or standing water suggest it. Remove and rinse the filter, refit it firmly, and call us if the problems continue after cleaning.
