Viking VRCI1240G Undercounter Service
The VRCI1240G is a retired 24-inch undercounter refrigerator for snacks, 2-liter bottles and cans, with two adjustable full-extension wire shelves that each hold up to 54 12-ounce cans. It usually sits in a bar, a basement or a home theater, where the cabinet around it is tight and the air near the floor is dusty.
We begin a VRCI1240G service with the condenser and the vent area, because dust there is the number one reason an undercounter refrigerator stops keeping up. We then check the door gasket, the fan and the thermostat, and slide each shelf to see that it runs freely. A thermometer stays inside while we work to show how the cabinet behaves. We give you a price in writing before ordering parts, and we cover repairs with a 30-day warranty.
Tight cabinets trap heat. If the front vent or condenser is dusty, the unit cannot reject heat. We clean the vent and coil and confirm the airflow path is clear.
If a slide is bent or a clip broken, we can usually replace the part. If a shelf is rusted through, we replace it. We check both shelves while working.
Around 37 degrees Fahrenheit is a good target for the fresh-food space. We measure with a thermometer left inside for a while, since a quick reading right after the door opens can be misleading.
