Viking DFSB542 Custom Panel Unit
The DFSB542 is a retired Designer side-by-side, 42 inches wide, that blends into cabinetry with locally supplied front panels. Viking Professional handles complete the look, or the owner could pick custom ones, so no two kitchens show quite the same face.
Because the front is a custom panel, the door carries more weight than a stock door. That is where age starts: hinge screws loosen, a door sags, and the gasket leaves a gap that warm kitchen air finds. Frost near the freezer door and a fresh food side that warms in the afternoon are the usual reports.
Our visit starts at the hinges and gaskets and moves on to the fans and the airflow. Pricing is settled in writing first, and a 30-day workmanship warranty is part of every job.
A small gasket leak lets in more warm air when the kitchen heats up, and the compressor cannot keep pace. We check the seal and the airflow, and measure the actual temperature at several shelves.
It adds weight, so hinges and slides carry more than they were designed for in stock form. We check alignment on each visit and tighten or replace hinge parts as required.
Frost touching the blade or a dry bearing. We clear any ice and test the motor, replacing the fan only when the bearing is gone.
Book in about a minute, or call the desk. Same-day windows inside the Loop on most days, next-day across the rest of Houston.
