Viking DDBB363 36-Inch Bottom-Freezer
The DDBB363 is a retired Designer Series bottom-freezer refrigerator, 36 inches wide, with the fresh food section above and the freezer below. Not much of its original paperwork survives, so we identify it by the model number on the data plate and work from there.
Bottom-freezer units tend to age in a predictable way. The door gaskets stiffen and let room air creep in, frost starts to coat the freezer’s back wall when the defrost cycle slips, and the condenser fan collects dust that cuts airflow. Each shows up as a warm shelf or a compressor that never rests.
We take real temperatures in both compartments, clean the condenser area and inspect the gaskets and fans. You get a written price before any repair, and every repair carries a 30-day warranty.
Cold air reaches the fresh food side through a damper and duct. Frost or a stuck damper can block it. We check the airflow path, the damper and the fan before replacing any part.
It suggests the defrost system is not clearing the evaporator. The heater, the termination device or the control may have failed. We test each to find the one that is out of range.
Switch it off, remove the lower grille, and vacuum the coil and fan area with a soft brush. A clean condenser lets the compressor rest, and it lengthens the unit's life.
