Viking VGR53044B Gas Range Repair
Where a kitchen has room for only one 30-inch range, the VGR53044B is a common choice: a current 5 Series sealed burner model with a porcelainized cooktop that wipes clean after a boil-over. It slides between standard cabinets, so access for service is mostly from the front.
Sealed burners keep spills away from the gas parts, but liquid still creeps beneath a cap and shorts the electrode. That is behind most of our ignition calls on this range. Inside, the Gourmet-Glo broiler and the oven bake igniter weaken gradually, and a sensor can start to read a few degrees off.
We lift each cap, dry and clean the electrode and watch the flame. Should you notice gas in the air, exit the home and ring the gas utility from your phone outside. We quote the price in writing before any work and cover our workmanship for 30 days.
A damp or dirty electrode, or a port clogged by a spill, is usually responsible. We remove the cap, clean the port and electrode, and check the spark. If the spark is strong and gas still does not light, we test the valve.
A clean burner and a strong igniter. Grease from the broiler pan can build up and slow the lighting, so keep the pan clean and call us if the flame delays more than usual.
Abrasive pads and harsh powders can dull the porcelain. Use a soft cloth and a mild cleaner. For baked-on residue near a burner, let us clean around the electrode so no moisture reaches the ignition.
Book in about a minute, or call the desk. Same-day windows inside the Loop on most days, next-day across the rest of Houston.
