Viking VESO1302 Select Oven Repair
The VESO1302 is the 30-inch member of Viking’s older Professional Custom Select single ovens, with a hidden bake element and a TruConvec convection motor and element. It pairs with the 27-inch VESO1272, and the two share their approach to service.
Complaints on this oven run along familiar lines. A lock that stays latched after self-clean needs its motor and switch tested. A bake element that has weakened shows up as slow preheating or pale baking, and we confirm it by measuring resistance and current. An oven that runs hot or cold has a sensor or thermostat that has drifted.
The convection motor is checked for noise and speed, and the door hinges and seal are examined for wear. This older generation means parts are verified before we quote. You receive the price in writing, and our repair is covered by a 30-day warranty.
The sensor or thermostat may have drifted, or the bake element may be too weak. We compare the oven with a reference thermometer, then test the element.
If it stays dark and the oven heats from the bake side only, the element or its connection has failed. We test continuity and replace the element.
Over many years, yes. Bearings wear and the fan wobbles. We listen, check speed and replace the motor if it is noisy or slow. A fan that has begun to wobble should not be ignored.
