What F07 means

F07 on Viking wall ovens with the EOC4 control, such as the Designer DSOE301, the D3 RDDOE306 and the Professional VEDO127, is a door switch error that applies to the clean cycle. The control saw the door open during CLEAN. The cause can be a latch that failed, a door sensor that failed, or a door that was opened right after CLEAN was selected. The clean cycle stops.

Common causes of F07

  • Door opened right after CLEAN was selected
  • Latch failed to hold the door
  • Door sensor failed
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Let the oven cool, then close the door fully and make sure the latch handle is in its proper position. 2. Clear the control with the cancel key. 3. Start CLEAN again and do not open the door once it has begun. 4. If F07 returns when you have not touched the door, call us.

! Why to stop there
  • A door that opens on its own points to the latch or sensor
  • The latch assembly is in the top of the oven
  • We quote first in writing, with a 30-day warranty on our work
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

F07F07 questions
Did I do something wrong?

Possibly. Opening the door just after selecting CLEAN triggers F07, because the control expects the door to stay shut. Try again and leave the door closed.

What if I never touched the door?

Then the latch or the door sensor may have failed to register the door as closed. That is a repair, and we check both parts before replacing either one.

Is it safe to restart the clean cycle?

Once the oven has cooled, yes. If F07 returns on its own, avoid self-clean until it is repaired, because the door must stay locked at those high temperatures.
