On Viking Professional Premiere knob-control electric ovens, such as the VESO5302SS, VEDO5302SS and VESO5272SS, the display flashes "no probe" when a probe function is started without the probe plugged into the oven outlet. It applies to Premiere models only. The message is an owner prompt rather than a failure, and it clears once the probe is connected or you choose a different cooking mode.
1. Let the oven and probe cool if the oven is hot. 2. Insert the probe into the food first, then push the plug fully into the oven outlet. 3. Restart the probe function. 4. If you do not want the probe, choose a regular bake setting instead. 5. If it still says no probe with the plug fully seated, try another cycle and call us.
No. It tells you the probe function was started without a probe connected. Plug the probe into the oven outlet, or pick a regular cooking mode, and the flashing stops right away.
The probe cooking feature is part of the Premiere models, so the prompt belongs to them. Other knob-control ovens in the Professional line do not offer that function or show this prompt.
Check the plug is fully seated and clean. If it persists, the probe or jack needs testing. We price it in writing first and give a 30-day workmanship warranty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
