Viking VEDO1272 Custom Oven Service
The VEDO1272 is a retired 27-inch Double Custom Select electric oven. The Pro Custom ovens were made available for flush-mount installation, which earlier Pro ovens did not allow, so many sit tight against their cabinetry.
A flush-mount fit leaves little room around the oven. Heat that cannot escape stresses the control, the wiring and the cabinet, so we check clearances and cooling airflow before testing the cavities. A weak bake element shows up as slow preheating, and an unstable sensor reading makes the control heat in fits and starts; we measure both. A lock that will not release is tested at the motor and switch.
Gaskets and hinges on both doors are inspected. The model is retired, so parts are confirmed before quoting. You get a written price first and a 30-day workmanship warranty.
It needs good airflow around it. If vents are blocked, heat builds up and shortens the life of the control. We check clearances during service. Heat that cannot escape also stresses the wiring behind.
A failing sensor or a loose connector can cause it. We test the sensor's resistance and reseat the connector. Intermittent readings often point to the connector.
Usually we slide it forward to reach the parts. We tell you before starting if the cabinet makes this harder. Most jobs do not need a full removal of the unit.
